Giving back to those in need is something that the team at Probo Medical holds dear to our hearts. By donating an ultrasound machine to a clinic in need, we can provide an entire town with life-saving imaging and diagnostics that they otherwise would not have access to. We’re changing lives through our donation program, keep reading to learn how.

Changing the Globe One Machine at a Time

In total, we have been able to donate over 80 ultrasound machines and upwards of 400 probes to various clinics and hospitals. Our donation program reaches the farthest corners of the world to provide life-saving OB/GYN and prenatal screening to birthing clinics, remote mountain clinics and city hospitals across the globe. Some of the areas our donated probes have been delivered to include the Dominican Republic, the Dominican Republic of the Congo, Mexico, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Ecuador, Guatemala, refugee camps in Iraq, Zambia, Kenya, Cambodia, Uganda, Mozambique, and most importantly – Haiti.

Hope for Haiti

The majority of our donations go to healthcare facilities in Haiti. Why? The maternal mortality rate in Haiti is higher than any other country in the Western Hemisphere with an estimated 521 deaths for every 100,000 live births. Millions of woman in Haiti lack proper healthcare and OB/GYN access, leading to large number of preventable deaths. Our goal is to help reduce these numbers by providing more rural clinics with tools to diagnose potential pregnancy-related complications so that proper medical care can be administered to mothers and their unborn children.

Inspiring Growth Through Ultrasound

Love a Child, Inc. is one of the many organizations we’ve partnered with in the last year. The owners of Love a Child, Inc. work with impoverished areas in Haiti to bring healthcare and other resources to those who severely need it. The ultrasound machine we donated is currently being used at their Jesus Healing Center, a community health center providing care for a number of health conditions – including OB/GYN for mothers to be. With a growing number of patients receiving ultrasound imaging, they will soon be opening a separate birthing center – which will create a designated home for OB/GYN care and offer more streamlined pregnancy care.

Partners for a Cause

The demand for quality equipment donations is large, and we’re working with various organizations to help meet these growing goals. We partner with a number of programs to deliver ultrasound equipment and proper training to areas in need such as Project CURE, Samaritan’s Purse and Matter. Through our website, we are also able to receive donation requests and work with the clinics in need of screening tools.

By donating just one ultrasound system, we can greatly improve the quality of life for hundreds of people. As we continue to grow, we are excited to partner with more organizations and make the dream of proper healthcare a reality for those in need.
